The pilot of a Beechcraft B300 King Air 350 that veered off one of the Macon County Airport runways November 28 and stopped on the taxiway during a landing attempt was uninjured. The pilot of the 8-10 passengers’ plane had departed from Atlanta-DeKalb Peachtree Airport in Georgia, and the recorded weather at 10:30 a.m. (about 8 minutes after the accident), included: winds 330 [degrees] at 12 knots, gusting 21 knots.
According to a report by Aviation Safety Network: “Post-accident photos provided by the Franklin Fire and Rescue show that the aircraft sustained substantial damage as (at least) two different propeller blades penetrated the nose section from each side.”
The Federal Aviation Administration is expected to investigate further.
