The 250th Anniversary of the United States of America is a great celebration of how far we as a country and population have come. We went from being ordinary migrants, starting from scratch after declaring and fighting for our independence, to one of the top countries in the world within those years.
The countries around us were skeptical; they didn’t believe we could possibly create a thriving society as a democratic republic. We proved them wrong. It was far from easy, as we had to overcome financial, national, and even personal issues.
We fought with each other; the Civil War makes that clear. We can all agree that the event can be seen as a tragedy, and it is. However, tragedy can determine how a country moves forward.
The Civil War proved that despite the loss we had endured from one another; we can persevere to make a brighter future for everyone in our country.
We have had many obstacles on the way: with assassinations of important leaders in our country, and misfortunes that have led to many deaths, but we have still managed to endure and stay strong.
I am proud to be a part of a country that has been raised from ashes more than once, and plan to celebrate how far we have come since 1776. People must be reminded of what our ancestors have fought for, because without them, we wouldn’t be here today.
God bless America.
