The Panther soccer team showed its dominance again on the pitch this week in a non-conference win against Erwin.
The Franklin High School varsity improved its record to 3-0-1 in a strong win over the Warriors 3-0.
The team’s next game is another non-conference home match against Asheville on Monday.
Erwin
Wednesday’s game against the 0-1-2 Erwin Warriors showed the Panther’s defensive dominance by blanking the visitors.
As is the pattern for the FHS boys, offense is the name of their game. For the boys, scoring seems to come easy with each game leading up to Wednesday’s match seeing at least four goals scored by the Panthers.
The Erwin game was still a dominant offense showing even if “only” three goals were scored.
Asheville
The game against the Asheville Cougars could prove to be the first real challenge if history is any indicator.
This week the Cougars beat Brevard soundly, 3-0, but the 1-1-1 Asheville squad seems to show life in the second half, according to reports. The undefeated Panthers can’t sleepwalk in this game at all. It has all the markings of a trap game.= ad FHS prepares for conference play.
