The Community Care Clinic of Franklin is pleased to announce it will expand primary and behavioral health care services thanks to support from Dogwood Health Trust.
“Dogwood Health Trust’s grant will allow us to increase our capacity to serve an additional 300 individuals, which is an increase of 30%,” said Cindy O’Boyle. CCCF executive director. “We are grateful for Dogwood’s commitment to increase access to care to an underserved population.”
A non-profit organization, CCCF is focused on providing free, compassionate health care to low-income and uninsured residents in Macon and surrounding counties. In addition to health care, the clinic provides access to lifesaving medications through their Medication Assistance Program.
The clinic recently moved into a new facility at 121 Riverview Street in Franklin. The larger facility provides space and allows for more day clinics, one evening clinic, and patient education opportunities.
The Community Care Clinic’s belief in providing quality healthcare regardless of patient’s ability to pay has been its focus since opening their doors in 2010.
“As the Community Care Clinic of Franklin grows, please know that patient care remains the heart of our clinic. Our staff and trained volunteers are experienced and compassionate and simply want to provide health care – primary and behavioral/mental – to those who do not have access,” said O’Boyle. “We understand that a happy, productive, and safe community begins with health care for all – and everyone deserves the dignity of health care.”
With the rising cost of health insurance, CCCF is seeing even more people coming through their doors for primary care, mental health care, diabetes management, and gynecological care.
“Having recently won a state-wide award for excellence in diabetes care and successfully launched care for people on Medicaid, Community Care Clinic of Franklin demonstrates every day that it is much more than a free clinic — it is committed to providing excellent, heart-centered care for all low-income residents of Macon County,” said Channah VanRegenmorter, program and strategy officer for Dogwood Health Trust. “I’ve had the privilege of working with Executive Director Cindy O’Boyle as a grants officer for the past five years, and it has been an honor to watch her grow this clinic from just evening hours in the public health department to a fully-fledged independent clinic offering care to all in need five days a week. I am glad that Dogwood Health Trust can help support this access to care.”
