Susie Franks Welch: 1971 - 2026

Susie Ann Franks Welch, 55, of Franklin, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late William and Bonnie Scott Franks. Susie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who cherished every moment spent with her family. She especially enjoyed time with her sons and grandsons, who were the center of her world.

Susie had a deep love for country and bluegrass music and was known for her tender heart and kind spirit. She dedicated many years of service to Macon Program for Progress, where she made a lasting impact before her illness.

She is survived by her sons, Ben Fitch, Jacob Collins (Seiharra); her beloved grandsons, Gabe Fitch and Sawyer Collins; a sweet baby granddaughter on the way; her brothers, Larry Franks, Billy Franks, Gary Franks, and Bob Franks; along with several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Susie’s life will be held at a later date.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
