John Richard Scott: 1948 - 2026

John Richard Scott, age 77, passed away on June 30, 2026, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born in Ohio on August 10, 1948, John was the beloved son of the late Richard and Angela Scott. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge from the military, John channeled his skills and work ethic into entrepreneurship, successfully owning and operating his own contracting service for many years.

A man of the Catholic faith, John found great peace and joy in the quiet creativity of working with his hands. He was an exceptionally talented carpenter and woodworker, and he spent countless content hours tending to his garden. When he wasn't creating or building, John could often be found listening to the familiar, comforting sounds of old-time and country music.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Angela Scott.

He is survived by his loving children, daughter Victoria Davenport and son Eric Scott; his brother, Mark Scott; and his sister, Monique McCoy. He is also remembered by his ex-wife, Charlene Hall, and her children, Alexus Hall, Jade Hall, and Justin Hall, along with four cherished grandchildren and a host of extended family members.

At this time, in accordance with John’s wishes, there will be no formal services.
