Cora “Ann” Queen Raby: 1935 - 2026

Cora “Ann” Queen Raby, 91, of Franklin, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Born and raised in Macon County, Ann was the daughter of the late Derrel and Effie Hall Queen and remained a lifelong resident of the community she loved. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Louree Guest, R.D. Queen, William Carey Queen, and Thad Thomas Queen. She lived a quiet and faithful life, devoted to her family and those she held dear.

For many years, Ann was employed as a housekeeper at Angel Community Hospital, where she was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. She attended Windy Gap Baptist Church, enjoyed watching college basketball, reading, and cooking delicious country food. More than anything, she treasured her family and the time spent with them.

She is survived by her children, Lena “Cissy” Beale (Ronnie), Chuck Raby, and Dale Raby (Melanie); four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three nieces; and one nephew.

Ann will be remembered for her gentle spirit, quiet strength, and unwavering love for her family. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

A private family service will be held.
