George Lugar Hendrickson: 1930 - 2026

George Lugar Hendrickson, age 96, passed away peacefully at his residence on August 15, 2026. Born February 6, 1930, in Pembroke, Virginia, he was the beloved son of the late Tim and Helen Meredith Hendrickson. George spent many dedicated years working with General Motors before enjoying a well-earned retirement.

A man of strong faith, he was a long-time, active member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church alongside his devoted wife. George enjoyed fishing, working in his gardens, tinkering around the house, baking, and watching Detroit Lions football.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, a brother, his son, George Michael Hendrickson; daughter-in-law, Mona Lynn Hendrickson; grandson, Bryan Justin Rogers; granddaughter, Hailey Rogers Nightingale; and stepson-in-law John Walter Fann.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Lois Colby Hendrickson, his two daughters, Beverly D. Tyler (Craig), and Pippa Renee' Chapman; two stepdaughters, Christine L. Hardin, and Michele T. Fann; as well as three grandchildren, one step-grandchild, and seven great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy.

A memorial service to celebrate George’s life will be held at 1pm on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
