Elizabeth Mae “Liz” Jenkins: 1952 - 2026

Elizabeth Mae "Liz" Jenkins, age 73, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born on November 23, 1952, in Harriman, Tennessee, Liz was the daughter of the late Rev. Frank Harrison Garner and Thelma Louise Garner, who survives her.

Liz was a devout member of East Franklin Baptist Church, where she faithfully served her congregation as the church pianist and treasurer for many years. Her music and steadfast dedication were a gift to all who knew her. Outside of her church ministry, she found great joy in quiet moments spent reading and cherished every opportunity to be surrounded by her beloved grand and great grandbabies.

She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Frank Harrison Garner.

In addition to her mother, Thelma Garner, Liz is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Rev. Terry R. Jenkins; two sons, James Harrison Jenkins (Vicky) and Shanon Wray Jenkins; one brother, Mark Garner (Sharon); five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren all of Franklin, NC.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at East Franklin Baptist Church, with Pastor Bobby Cloer officiating.
