Carolyn Jean Pagan: 1959 - 2026

Carolyn Jean Pagan, 67, of Whittier, NC, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2026. She was born April 7, 1959 in Buncombe County, NC to the late Harley and Ruby Moore.

Carolyn worked in the medical field as a CNA. Carolyn loved Jesus, she attended Whittier Church of God and Franklin Church of God. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved motorcycle riding, gardening, cooking, canning, going out, watching westerns and Hallmark (Gunsmoke and Little House on the Prairie).

She is survived by her husband, Sam Pagan; three children, Herbert Waldroup, Matthew Waldroup (Portica), and Elizabeth Waldroup Shuler (Chris); grandchildren, Emellina Waldroup, Kaol Fuller, Alissa Shuler, Amilia Waldroup, Lucas Shuler and Coy Waldroup; siblings, Gary Moore, Billy Joe Moore and Jan Hall; and special family friend, Maleigha Elliott.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Moore; daughter-in-law, Sally Waldroup; and her first husband, Horace Waldroup.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 2:00 pm in the Grant Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home, with Rev. Ricky Brewer officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.
