On Saturday, September 12, Operation Christmas Child volunteers from across Western North Carolina will gather at Holly Springs Baptist Church the annual Project Leader Workshop.
The workshop is to support and connect local volunteers with those who lead their church, community group or organization in packing shoeboxes with school supplies, hygiene items, and fun toys.
Each shoebox gift is an opportunity to share the love of Jesus with children in need. These gift-filled shoeboxes will contribute to the project’s global goal of reaching more than 12.8 million children in Jesus’ Name.
Area Team Coordinator June Trull tell everyone, “Whether you have attended in the past or this will be your first workshop, you will get to see new content and receive an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the Ministry of Operation Christmas Child. Resources will be available to support your church, organization or even business in packing quality shoeboxes.”
The workshop is free and lunch will be provided.

Drop-off locations across Western North Carolina will be opening for National Collection Week, Nov. 16 – 23. Participants can donate $10 per shoebox gift online through “Follow Your Box” and receive a tracking label to discover its destination.
Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, seeks to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world and, together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered more than 244 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 175 countries and territories.
