Ruby Mae Collins: 1937 - 2026

Ruby Mae Collins, 89, of Franklin, NC, passed away Friday, October 2, 2026.

She was the daughter of the late McAuthor and Eliza Elliott Hurst. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Junior Hurst, Richard Hurst, Bruce Hurst, Leon Hurst, Evelyn Swafford, Patricia Hurst; children, Donnie, Ronnie, Ikey, Timmie, Nancy, Sara, Brenda, and Glenda; grandchildren, Danny Thomas, Tina Hopkins, and a great grandson Nathan Johnson.

Ruby liked to watch TV, especially soap operas. She loved her family and spending time with them.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Thomas, Kathy Kendall; grandchildren, Angela (Lynn), Ronnie (Amy), Natasha, Tracy (Adam), Michael (Christy), Chad (Andrea), Christy, Steven (Virginia), Stephine, Ricky; sisters, Judy Lawing and Myrtle Jones. Also surviving are numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, October 9th, from 5-7 pm at Macon Funeral Home.
