UPDATED 9:05 P.M. – The repair has been completed at the Water Treatment Plant. A contractor hit a 16” line while excavating. It will take approximately 12 hours to restore the water levels in the system to its full capacity, and there may be periods of low pressure. As a precaution, the Town will leave the voluntary water restrictions in place until Noon on Friday, April 3. The Town appreciates your patience and understanding.
We also wish to thank those members of the Water Treatment and Public Works staff who worked to help restore the water system in a safe and efficient manner.
4: 16 PM – There is an emergency water line repair at the Water Treatment Plant that is impacting the system flow and pressure of lines in West Franklin. The Town of Franklin is asking all citizens to voluntarily restrict the amount of water being used effective Thursday, April 2, 2026 until the repair can be completed. It is estimated that repairs could take several hours.
Examples of ways to voluntarily restrict water use can include eliminating of washing vehicles, waiting to wash clothes until you have a full load, checking for leaks or toilets that may be running or use of dishwashers, limiting watering or irrigating outdoor landscapes.
The Town is asking for citizen cooperation by limiting the use of water until the repair is made and treated water production is enough offset low pressure levels.
