Tillman Register: 1935 - 2026

Mr. Tillman Register, age 90, passed peacefully on February 24, 2026, at Angel Medical Center. Born on March 5, 1935, in Graceville, Florida, he was the son of the late E.N. Register and Eva Watford Register. His life was marked by service, devotion, and a steadfast commitment to his family, his faith, and his community.

Tillman proudly served his country in the United States Navy before beginning a long and dedicated career with Florida Power, where he retired as a Lineman. Retirement only broadened his talents and interests. After settling in Franklin, North Carolina, he discovered a passion for upholstery and became known for his craftsmanship and willingness to help others.

A faithful member of Holly Springs Baptist Church, Tillman sang joyfully in the church choir and contributed his skills to the construction of several church additions. His heart for service extended beyond the local community as he worked with the Baptist Men Disaster Relief team, offering hands-on support to those affected by hurricanes and other natural disasters.

Tillman is survived by his loving wife, Anita Shields Register; his three children, Michael Register (Sandy), Teresa Register, and Loree Roberts (Jobe); three grandchildren, John Landrum (LeAnne), Mikaela Boykin (David), and Aimee Merritt (Max); and four great-grandchildren, Caroline, Huck, Charlie, and Trace. He cherished each of them deeply and took great pride in their lives and accomplishments.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16th, 2026, at Holly Springs Baptist Church in the Fellowship Hall with Pastor Ben Heise officiating. Members of the church choir will serve as Honorary Pallbearers, a fitting tribute to a man who lifted his voice in worship and lived his faith with quiet strength.
