The Friends of the Macon County Public Library will hold a half-price sale 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, June 18 and 19, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at the used bookstore located at 115 Highlands Rd. (Shops at Riverwalk) in Franklin.
Thanks to community donations, the used bookstore is overstocked. The sale applies to most items in the store. Come early for the best selection as we are unable to hold items.
The Friends raise money to support library programs and the purchase of equipment and technology through memberships, donations and bookstore sales.
Members have early, advanced access to the sale. There is no better time to become a member to support Macon County’s public library and receive notifications of special events. Non-members can sign-up at the store or on the Friends website, https://www.friendsofthelibrarymaconnc.org/ Various membership levels are available. The Friends raise money to support library programs and the purchase of equipment and technology, providing benefits to the community that the library’s operating budget is unable to support.
In addition to books, the store sells magazines, vinyl records, CDs, audio books, puzzles, games and DVDs. The store is operated completely by volunteers. Materials are donated by the public.
Established in 1971, the Friends of the Macon County Public Library aim to develop and maintain citizen interest and participation in the growth and development of the Macon County Public Library and to stimulate the use of the library’s resources and services.
