Where Mountains Meet Main Street… Art Comes Alive!
The Macon County Art Association is pleased to announce the inaugural Franklin Plein Air Art Festival – Mountains & Main, taking place October 22–24, 2026, in Franklin, North Carolina.
Artists from across the region will gather to paint outdoors, capturing Franklin’s historic downtown, mountain vistas, waterfalls, rivers, and scenic landscapes. Visitors are invited to watch artists at work as they create original paintings in real time.
Painting locations include Historic Downtown Franklin, Parker Meadows, the Greenway along the Little Tennessee River, Cullasaja Gorge, and Quarry Falls. Completed artwork will be exhibited at Uptown Gallery, where awards will be presented and artwork will be available for purchase at the Gallery through October 31.
The festival celebrates Franklin’s beauty, supports local businesses, encourages tourism, and helps establish a new annual tradition.
