Alice Mashburn Underwood

Alice Mashburn Underwood: 1938 - 2026

Alice Mashburn Underwood, 87, passed away on June 24th, 2026, at Eckerd Living Center. She was born on September 23rd, 1938, to the late Grady and Jane Henry Mashburn.

Wife of the late, Gorden Underwood. Alice was preceded in death by her only child Arquillia Henderson Jamison; brothers, Howard, Furman, Bruce, David, and Dayton; sisters, Gertrude, Mildred, Nina; son-in-laws, Ralph Henderson and Eldon Jamison.

Survived by two granddaughters, Crystal Henderson (Fred) and Carrie Bowen (Chris); great grandsons, Devin (Stella) and Derick Bryson (Addie), Mason, Gage, and Gatlin Bowen; sister, Rosie; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 29th at Macon Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, June 30th at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend Eddie Stillwell officiating. Burial will follow at Ellijay Baptist Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Lloyd Mashburn, Tim McMahan, Devin Bryson, Derick Bryson, Mason Bowen, and Gage Bowen.

Serving as an honorary pallbearers will be Gatlin Bowen and Kelby Mashburn.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Glenville-Cashiers Rescue Squad at P.O. Box 919, Cashiers, NC 28717.
