Faye Bishop
Faye Bishop: 1945 - 2026
Mrs. Laura “Faye” Phillips Bishop, 80, of Macon County, passed peacefully on March 26, 2026, at the JF Keever Solace Center in Asheville. Born on August 8, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Charles Robert and Vernon Laura Bradley Phillips.
Faye lived a life grounded in faith, family, and service. A devoted and longtime member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, she served faithfully as a choir member, secretary, treasurer, and caretaker of the cemetery fund. Her dedication to her church family was a reflection of her generous spirit and her deep love for her community.
Faye found joy in the simple pleasures of life camping, shopping, road trips, and visits to Pigeon Forge were among her favorite adventures. Above all, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchild, who brought her endless pride and happiness.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Carroll Lamar Bishop, who passed in 2012; and her twin sister, Bobbie Gay Parrish, who passed in 2025.
Faye is survived by her daughter, Amy Bishop Robinson; her two granddaughters, Lauren Robinson (Cody Kelley) and Brooke Robinson (Caleb Mathis); and her great-grandson, Kaizer Kelley. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Michael Robinson; her brother-in-law, Jerry Parrish of Clayton, GA; her niece, Shandale Brewer; and her nephew, Tony Parrish, both of Clayton, GA; as well as several loving in-laws from Carroll’s family and many nieces and nephews who adored her.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with Reverends Mark Bishop and Doug Mathis officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Macon Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service on Tuesday in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers for Mrs. Bishop will be Michael Robinson, Tony Parrish, Caleb Mathis, Cody Kelley, Austin Bishop, Chandler Sanders, Jamie Cochran, and Mitchell Bishop.
Kaizer Kelley will serve as Junior Pallbearer.
Honorary pallbearers are Scotty Bishop and Bobby Bishop.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CarePartners Hospice Solace Center at 21 Belvedere Rd, Asheville, NC 28803, in gratitude for the compassionate care they provided.
