Patricia Busby Thomas: 1953 - 2026

Patricia Busby Thomas, age 72, of Franklin, NC, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

She was born in Hamlet, NC, to the late Bill and Patricia Drummond Busby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Earl Thomas.

Patricia attended the Church of God. She was a loving mother who cherished her family deeply. She was a CNA and spent the last 10 years of her life being a caregiver. Known for her gentle spirit, Patricia had a warm smile for everyone she met and touched the lives of many with her kindness.

She is survived by her children, Jamie Barlow and Ava Klatt; grandchildren, James David Barlow Jr., Bridget Barlow; siblings, Linda Castro and Wendell Busby; brother-in-law, Lonnie Thomas; sisters-in-law, Katie Rowland (Mitchell) and Thelma Carpenter; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 19th, from 1-2pm at Macon Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 2pm, with Rev. Phillip Cochran officiating. Burial will be in the Black Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Danny Shope, Gary Rowland, Tim Carpenter, Robert Welch, Hunter Klatt, and Jamie Barlow.
