Sharon Georgia Peek Huscusson: 1958 - 2026

Sharon Georgia Peek Huscusson, 67, of Franklin, NC, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 30, 2026.

Born in Transylvania County, Sharon was the daughter of the late Furman Peek and Jeanette Holland Peek. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Peek, and her brother-in-law, Bill Henderson.

A lifelong resident of Macon County, Sharon was a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church throughout her life. She enjoyed many things, including NASCAR racing, especially cheering for her favorite drivers, Dale Earnhardt and Kyle Larson. Sharon loved birdwatching and cherished her trips to Alaska. She was a dedicated employee who worked at Beldon and later at Southwestern Community College's Public Safety Training Center, as a role player of the law enforcement training program.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Bill Huscusson; her sisters, Linda Henderson, Vesta Hogsed (Roland), Martha McConnell (Elbert), and Pam Bell (Mark); her brother, Bobby Peek (Sharon); sister-in-law, Toya Peek; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Also surviving are special family friends, the Ray Thompson family of Ohio, who held a special place in Sharon's heart.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the care and compassion shown to Sharon and her loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Four Seasons Hospice or to the Buck Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.

A celebration of “Sharon Jean’s” life will be held at a later date.

Sharon will be remembered for her love of family, her faithful spirit, and the kindness she shared with those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. “Sharon Jean” you just wait on us on the other side.
