Steve Robert Hedden

Steve Robert Hedden: 1948 - 2026

Steve Robert Hedden, 78, of Anderson, AL, passed away on Thursday, July 30th, 2026, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born on March 10th, 1948, in Franklin, NC, to Ernest and Elmira (Berry) Sylvester Hedden.

Mr. Hedden is survived by his wife, Viola Hedden; sons, Jonathon Hedden (Kimberly) and Steven Andrew Hedden (Samatha); daughters, Valarie Thornton (Jay) Nicole Woods (Kevin), and Sonia Kirkpatrick ; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Sammy Hedden; sister, Sharon Hunt (Bobby); and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Elmira Hedden; and brother, William “Billy” Hedden.

The funeral service for Mr. Hedden will be Monday, August 3rd, 2026, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, at 2:00 p.m., with CW Kennedy officiating. The visitation will be Monday, from 12:00 to 1:45 p.m., at the chapel. Burial will be at Strain Cemetery, in Franklin, NC, August 8th, 2026, with a graveside at 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Hedden was a member of Madison Street Baptist Church.
