Weldon JB Keener

Weldon JB Keener: 1948 - 2026

Welden JB Keener, 78, of Highlands, NC, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2026. He was born November 9, 1948, in Macon Co., NC to Ruby Estelle Webb Keener and the late JB Keener.

Born in the Goldmine Community, Welden was a lifelong resident of Macon Co., NC; he also lived in Rabun Gap for many years. He worked in and retired from the textile industry as a dye operator. Mr. Keener was a member of Goldmine Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and fish in his free time.

In addition to his mother, Welden is survived by his children, Selena Ann Keener, Bridget Dawn Keener, and Miles Matthew Keener; two brothers, Ervin Keener (Debra) and Bruce Keener; four sisters, Gail Garland, Janice Demore (Ronald), Joan Estes, and Hilda Brown (Randy); several grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held.
